This chai blend is spicy!

Inspired by a cinnamon lover. This blend it fit for a King and his people. The name “chai” is actually the Hindi word for “tea”, which was derived from “cha”, the Chinese word for “tea”.

But the traditional ingredients of a spiced tea blend usually include black tea mixed with strong spices, like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger and black peppercorns. But this is Caffeine Free which means... no Tea Leaves, and you don't even miss it.

  What you'll need...

2 tablespoons of burdock root

2 1/2 tablespoons of ginger root

2 tablespoons of dried orange peel

1 tablespoon of cinnamon chips or 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks

1 1/2 teaspoon of peppercorns

1 teaspoon of hulled cardamom or 3 crushed cardamom pods

1/4 teaspoon of cloves (about 3-5 cloves)

At this time what I do is Grind all the spices in a coffer grinder or mortar and pestle. I put 2 teaspoons of mixture into tea bags, seal them, and store them away and a Mason Jar with lid.

If you going to drink it all day long then add 1 and 1/2 quarts of water

Place all the ingredients in a pan. Bring to a boil, then lower heat. Cover and simmer for one hour. Strain. Add, milk and honey if desired.

If you doing individual tea bags, you can use them all twice. for the strongest flavor.
